SWEET LP Discography

Sixty-Eight SWEET LPs

by Andreas Spies

*** © copyright Andreas M. Spies / SweetWorld ***

This page shows a pictured discography of all Sweet LPs released worldwide. Meanwhile I took photos and scans of all LPs I know about, but I am still busy with filling in the information (country, catalog number, tracks listing, ...). Please come back here some time in the near future and see how this page develops.
Some LPs are released with slightly different covers. I will think about what to do in this case. I have between 5 and 10 "OFF THE RECORD" LPs with slight differences on the front cover. I think I will put these as an example on this page soon.
If you know about another LP not included I will be happy to receive your email.
Thanks to Sten Karlsson from the website "Give Us A Link" where I took some of the scans from.

Sweet Fanny Adams

This is the RCA version of the Desolation Boulevard LP, CAPITOL records released a VERY different album with the same title.

Fox On The Run
(Taiwan 1974)
This record is actually a Desolation Boulevard LP, but in Taiwan the front cover shows the inner design of the gatefold version and on the backside there are the lyrics.
Very rare!
Desolation Boulevard
(USA 1974)
Side 1: (1)
Side 2: (1)

The CAPITOL Records release of the Desolation Boulevard album is actually a mixture of Sweet Fanny Adams, the RCA-Desolation and "Strung Up". Although album title and cover are similar, just three songs have the same title and only one of these is exactly the same:
- "The Six Teens" is identical on both Desolation Boulevard versions
- "Solid Gold Brass" sounds different because the Capitol versions has guitar overdubs
- "Fox on the Run" has two TOTALLY different versions ("Capitol" plays the single version)

The Capitol versiopn was released in USA, Canada and Japan. The Japanese one has the extra track "Action".

This Columbian only release looks (both on the front and back side) like "Sweet Fanny Adams" but actually it is a reduced "Strung Up" where each of the 2 discs is shortened to one side only. A nice idea!
Some have orange RCA labels, some have the dog and grammophone labels.
Usually only the back side of the cover is black and white, but one copy has been found which was TOTALLY black and white.
